Badges
Name badges are required for admission to all educational sessions, exhibits and meal functions. Attendees for the Glasser and O’Hanlon workshops will have a special pass issued upon registration.

No Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in the meeting rooms, exhibit or registration areas.

Anyone who has requested special arrangements for the meeting should speak with a staff member at the registration desk.

Meeting Objective
The meeting is designed to educate pyschotherapists and practitioners in integrative medicine from a variety of backgrounds on the fundamentals of, and recent advances in their fields. Attendees will find the educational offerings to be useful in broadening and refining the services they offer.

Target Audience
The target audience includes physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, acupuncturists, chiropractors, counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, pastoral counselors, psychoanalysts, administrators and others in related fields.

Cancellations/Refund Policy
All requests for cancellation must be made to the APA/AAIM headquarters in writing by FAX or mail. Phone cancellations will not be accepted. All cancelled/refunded registrations will be assessed a $50 administration fee. Refunds are pro-rated as follows: Prior to June 1 full refund; June 2-15 75% refund; June 16-31 50% refund; NO REFUNDS after July 1, 2003.

The performance of this conference is subject to the acts of God, war, government regulation, disaster, strikes, civil disorder, curtailment of transportation facilities or any other emergency making it impossible to hold the conference. In the event of such occurrences, credit vouchers will be issued in lieu of cash.

Continuing Education Credit Information
Continuing education credits are available for the workshops and member presentations. The continuing education credits will be provided based on the accreditations and approvals that the associations currently hold. All sessions will apply toward maintaining APA Diplomate status for those who joined after October 2001 and are required to obtain 15 continuing educations each year. Continuing education credits issued may not apply toward license renewal in all states. It is the responsibility of each participant to verify the requirements and submit to his/her state licensing board(s).

Credit Available: There will be approximately 73 hours of Continuing Education credits available to choose from in various specialties. You can earn up to 17.75 hours individually.

Awarding of Credit
To receive continuing education credits you will be required to:

1. Sign in upon registration. MFT and LCSW please note your state license #.
2. Complete the evaluation form for each session you attend and the overall conference. Evaluations are a required component of the accreditation process. Please include any helpful comments.
3. Turn in the evaluation form at the registration desk, to a staff member or room monitor when all your session evaluations are completed. You may also mail or fax completed evaluation forms to the CE Department. Deadline is Monday, September 15, 2003

Participants must attend the entire session in order to receive the specified CE credits. Continuing Education Certificates of Attendance will be sent within eight weeks of the conference.

Accreditations and Approval
The sister association of APA and AAIM, the American College of Forensic Examiners International (ACFEI) holds the accreditations for APA and AAIM.

– Continuing Education credits will be provided based on the following:

  • American Psychological Association
    ACFEI is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing professional education for psychologists. ACFEI maintains responsibility for the program.
  • Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB)
    ACFEI, provider #1052, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, phone: 1-800-225-6880, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. ACFEI maintains responsibility for the program. Licensed social workers should contact their individual board to review continuing education requirements for licensure renewal.
  • California Board of Behavioral Sciences
    ACFEI is an approved provider of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, approval PCE 1896.
  • California Board of Registered Nursing
    ACFEI is California Board of Registered Nursing Provider 13133.
  • National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC)
    ACFEI is recognized by the National Board of Certified Counselors to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors. We adhere to NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines.
  • Academy of General Dentistry
    ACFEI is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry. The formal continuing dental education programs of ACFEI are accepted by AGD for Fellowship/Mastership and membership maintenance credit. Approval does not imply acceptance by a state or provincial board of dentistry. The current term of approval extends from 11/1/97 to 12/31/03.

Credit Legend -
With the description of each session, you will note the credit designations listed below. These designations will reflect the continuing education credits that will be issued to attendees.

APA – Designates sessions approved for credits by the American Psychological Association.

ASWB – Designates sessions approved for credits by the Association Social Work Boards.

CABS – Designates sessions approved for credits by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Course meets the qualifications for up to 17.75 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

RN – Designates sessions approved for credits by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider# 13133, for up to 17.75 Contact Hours.

NBCC- Designates sessions approved for credits by the National Board of Certified Counselors. A maximum

of 17.75 credits are available.

AGD – Designates sessions approved for credits by the Academy of General Dentistry.
